Amy Casey
é uma artista plástica residente em Cleveland, Ohio,
que encontrou na Cidade o tema principal do seu programa. Casey concebe a
cidade americana como um conjunto de blocos individualizados empilhados,
hierarquizados entre si, mas desestruturados no seu conjunto. Penduradas por
cabos, pontes, estradas ou redes, as cidades de Casey apresentam-se-nos rasgadas
e fragmentadas por uma série de barreiras urbanas. Bamboleantes, parecem
extremamente instáveis e prestes a desmoronar-se.

Amy Casey is an artist based in Cleveland, Ohio, who found in the City the main theme of her work. Casey conceives
the American city as a hierarchical set of individualized and stacked blocks,
however unstructured. Suspended by cables, bridges, roads and webs, Casey’s
cities seem torn and fragmented by a series of urban boundaries. Swaying, they
look overly unstable and about to crumble.
