DAVID HOCKNEY compositive polaroids

David Hockney, OM, CH, RA, is an English painter, draughtsman, printmaker, stage designer and photographer, who is based in Bridlington, Yorkshire and Kensington, London.An important contributor to the Pop art movement of the 1960s, he is considered one of the most influential British artists of the twentieth century.David Hockney has also worked with photography, or, more precisely, photocollage. Using varying numbers of small Polaroid snaps or photolab-prints of a single subject Hockney arranged a patchwork to make a composite image. One of his first photomontages was of his mother. Because these photographs are taken from different perspectives and at slightly different times, the result is work that has an affinity with Cubism, which was one of Hockney’s major aims – discussing the way human vision works. Não costumo fazer este tipo de publicações, mas como este site funciona como um diário visual, faz sentido que partilhe tudo o que de alguma forma se torna para mim numa referência. Os Troubadours são uma gama de headphones da marca californiana LSTN , cuja particularidade reside, para além do seu design retro, no facto do acabamento ser em madeira. Encontram madeira de ébano, cerejeira e faia disponíveis na loja on-line da marca. Devo confessar que os de madeira de ébano são os meus favoritos. Sorte a minha que exportam para todo o mundo! REM KOOLHAAS' CASA DA MÚSICA | by Alda João, Porto 2013

Estas fotografias foram tiradas no Porto, à Casa da Música, do arquitecto Rem Koolhaas. Não procurei aqui captar o objecto arquitectónico em si, mas sim um conjunto de pormenores e pontos de vista que o caracterizam e identificam. As duas primeiras foram tiradas com um rolo da Lomography de 100 ASA e as restantes com um de 200 ASA, daí que a saturação das cores seja diferente das primeiras. O facto de terem sido tiradas em dias diferentes também interferiu no resultado. I shoot these photos in Oporto, to Rem Koolhaas' 'Casa da Música' [or, in english, The Music House]. It wasn't my intention to capture the architectonic piece per si, but instead a set of details and viewpoints which identify and characterize the architecture. The first two photos were taken with Lomography 100 ASA film, and the rest of them with 200 ASA, so there's no wonder the colour saturation is different. The fact I shoot in diferent days also interfered in the result....
